Regular Classes – Divided by sex: Junior Puppy (6-9 Months), Senior Puppy (9-12

months), 12-18 Months, Canadian Bred, Bred by Exhibitor, Open, Veterans

(divided into 7-9 Year and 10+ Year classes) and Field. Specials Only.

Awards of Merit – Presentation(s) will be made after Best of Breed judging. One

Award per every 10 entries competing for Best of Breed may be offered.

Best Bred by Exhibitor – Presentation will be made after Best of Breed judging. Eligible

Salukis must be breeder/owner-handled, not defeated by another BBE entry.

Best Veteran – Presentation will be made after Best of Breed judging.

Non-Regular Classes – Exhibition

Only, Brace, Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Baby Puppy.

Youth Sweepstakes Classes – The following classes are offered for dogs and bitches:

Junior Puppy (6-9 Month Class), Senior Puppy (9-12 Month Class) and 12-18 Month.

Veteran Sweepstakes Classes – The following classes are offered for both dogs and

bitches: 7-9 Years, 9-12 Years and 12+ Years.

Breeder Sweepstakes Classes – Divided by sex, one class only in each sex. Each Saluki

must be handled by its breeder but doesn’t have to be owned by its breeder.

2017 SALUKI CLUB OF CANADA NATIONAL SPECIALTY

Regular classes (divided by sex)

JUNIOR PUPPY – for dogs 6 months of age but under 9 months of age

SENIOR PUPPY – for dogs 9 months of age but under 12 months of age

12-18 MONTHS – for dogs 12 months of age but under 18 months of age

CANADIAN BRED – for dogs born in Canada, champions of any country excluded

BRED BY EXHIBITOR – for dogs owned and handled in the ring by the breeder

OPEN – for all dogs

VETERANS – for dogs 7 years of age or over (split into two age categories 7—10 years and 10 years and over). These dogs do not compete for Winners, but the winner of this class shall go on to compete for Best of Breed. Dogs competing in this class may be spayed or neutered.

FIELD DOG –The field dog class is divided by sex Dogs entered in this class must have attained a title or placement in a field trial. These dogs do not compete for Winners, but the winner of this class shall go on to compete for Best of Breed. Dogs entered in these classes may be spayed or neutered.

SPECIALS ONLY – for dogs that have a CKC registration or ERN number and have attained their Championship. Entry of a dog in “Specials Only” is not prohibited on the grounds that the title of champion has not been confirmed by the CKC, but if it is found later that the dog had not attained championship status before the entry had been made, then all awards attained at the show will be cancelled. The entry of a “listed dog” in Specials Only is not allowed.

Sexually Altered Classes – for dogs over six months of age which have been sexually altered. Two classes only will be offered, Altered Dog and Altered Bitch. Classes will be placed first through fourth in both sexes. The first-place winner from each sex will be declared Winners and the second-place winner from each sex will be for awarded Reserve. The Altered Winners Dog and Altered Winners Bitch will then compete for Best Altered in Breed and Best Opposite Altered.
